Where Is Amboseli?

Amboseli National Park lies in Kajiado County, southern Kenya, approximately 225 kilometres southeast of Nairobi. The park borders Tanzania and sits directly north of Mount Kilimanjaro, providing world-famous views of Africa’s highest peak.

Its GPS coordinates are 2.6521° S, 37.2605° E. Travelling from Nairobi takes 4–5 hours by road via the Emali–Loitoktok highway. Air travellers can land at Amboseli Airstrip.

Amboseli covers 392 square kilometres of acacia woodland, wetlands, and savanna. It is best known for its large elephant herds and close-range wildlife photography.

Entry fees (2025 rates): KES 1,500 (EA citizen) and USD 90 (non-resident). Children pay half these rates.
