Nairobi National Park is located 7 kilometres south of Nairobi’s central business district, in southern Kenya. The park covers about 117 square kilometres and borders the Kitengela plains to the south, which serve as wildlife corridors for migrating herbivores. Its GPS coordinates are 1.3733° S, 36.8588° E.
Visitors can reach the main gate via Langata Road, roughly a 20-minute drive from downtown. The park’s proximity to the city makes it ideal for half-day safaris that showcase lions, rhinos, giraffes, and buffalos against a skyline backdrop — a contrast found nowhere else in the world.
The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) manages the park under the Wildlife Conservation and Management Act. Nairobi National Park is open daily from 6 AM – 6 PM, with entry fees of KES 1,000 for East African citizens and USD 80 for non-residents.
For a guided Nairobi National Park tour, Campo East Africa Safaris offers curated day trips.
