What Are the Charges for Nairobi National Park?

The charges for Nairobi National Park include entry fees and vehicle fees, set under the Kenya Gazette Special Issue 1833 (2025). Adult East African citizens pay KES 1,000, residents pay KES 1,350, and non-residents pay USD 80 for a 24-hour visit. Children and students pay KES 500 (citizens), KES 675 (residents), or USD 40 (non-residents). These rates support wildlife conservation, ranger operations, and habitat protection across the Nairobi ecosystem.

Visitors also pay a daily vehicle charge when entering with a private or tour vehicle. Cars with fewer than six seats cost KES 600, 6–12-seater safari vans cost KES 1,500, and 13–24-seat vehicles cost KES 3,000. Larger buses attract higher fees. These charges apply regardless of nationality and must be paid at the gate or through an operator before entry.

Because Nairobi National Park opens from 6 AM to 6 PM, travellers often schedule early morning game drives when lions, rhinos, and buffalo are most active. Many visitors pair their experience with the nearby Nairobi Safari Walk or Giraffe Centre, both located minutes from the main gate.
